                                                         Lyrics Analysis

The song I choose was called “From The Inside Out” by Phillip’s, Craig, and Dean, from their album called Fearless. I like their song because it is inspiring. I choose this song for analysis because it stuck out more than any other I have listened to. I wouldn’t say I admire the performers but I do like their song.  There is another song I enjoy; it is called “Counting On God.” The song’s deeper mean to me is that no matter how many times I fail the Lord’s mercy still remains. That should I fall I am caught by the Lord’s grace, that the Lord’s light is never ending, it will live on and on never fading.  He doesn’t have an end date. That he is higher than any one else. I am surrendering everything to my Lord and giving him control.  I am asking Lord to come in and guide me. I will give you my praise and my justice.  I will give you all my love. I am putting you first above everyone. I give myself up to my Lord to praise you.  I reminded of how you are never ending. Your light will never end. It will still shine when all else fades. You are there forever. You are above everyone on this earth.  That I need to cry out with all of me and I need worship with all of me, and that I need to praise my Lord from my soul. The author’s purpose is telling people God cares for them no matter what they have done; he will forgive no matter what. It tells a story about a forgiving and never ending, loving God, who wants us to praise him.  It makes me feel sad and happy that I have a God who cares for me. It starts out simple and gets to the meaning of the song. I don’t really notice any words being used differently than how they would usually be used. The instrumental music reinforces it by it plays quiet then certain times it gives a sound that sticks out in the song to make a point. It has a happy and up beat tone. It sounds like a song of happiness and worship and giving one’s self. A guitar and drums are used in this song. It is common instruments that help to get the point across.

Paraphrase:

I have failed more times than I can count
But your forgiveness still remains
If I fall
You will catch me

You are unending
Your light will never end
You will never leave or forsake me
You are higher then anyone
I give control over to you
You take me just the way I am
Your plan for is still there no matter what
I give you all of me in worship

You are never ending
Your light God will never end it will out last everything else
You are here for all time
I will give you worship
I will worship the Lord with all of me

My innermost being calls out, my innermost being calls out to You
My innermost being calls out, my innermost being calls out to

Performer/Composer: Phillip’s, Craig & Dean
Album: Fearless
Song Title: From The Inside Out

Song:

A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace

Everlasting,
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending,
Your glory goes beyond all fame
my heart and my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Everlasting,
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending,
Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out

My soul cries out, my soul cries out to You
My soul cries out, my soul cries out
